"Vancouver Island & Beyond: Whispers From The Wild"

There are journeys we begin without knowing why—quiet beginnings that slip into our lives like low tide, revealing something hidden beneath the surface. Years ago, I started one of those journeys. I followed light through forests, traced the edges of islands, listened to the whispers carried on salt air. And then, as life reshaped itself around me, I set the project aside.

But some dreams wait. They sit in the wings with patience, gathering meaning while we are away. And now, with room to breathe and space to reflect, I return—slowly, thoughtfully—to a vision that never left. This is more than a pictorial book; it is a calling back to the places that have shaped me. A journey into the quiet magic of the west coast islands—where mist drifts between cedars, where shorelines exhale with the turning tide, where every path leads deeper into the pulse of the natural world.

This project is my way of listening again. Of noticing. Of honouring what remains fragile, irreplaceable, and easily overlooked. Every photograph is a moment suspended… a breath held in the wild… an echo of something ancient and enduring. These landscapes ask for nothing from us but presence—and offer everything in return.

As I share this unfolding journey—page by page, image by image, story by story—I hope to reveal not just beauty, but belonging. A sense that these wild places are not separate from us; they shape us, soften us, and remind us of what truly matters.
